Iranian director to judge at US fest

Iranian director Houman Naderi is to judge at the Free Speech Film Festival in the US.

Iranian director, writer and editor Houman Naderi has been selected as a jury member at the 2020 edition of the Free Speech Film Festival in the US.

Naderi, the director of the short film ‘I Am Zal’ is a PhD student studying arts in Isfahan University.

Besides directing films, Naderi has written several articles and won a number of awards at different festivals.

He grabbed the Best Film Award at the IFF film festival in Australia, the Golden Lotus at the Kadoma International Film Festival in Japan, Life Happens Award at the Chicago Southland film festival in the US and the special Jury Award at the Heyderabad festival in India.

He also has been nominated at some festivals, including the MINT Film Festival in the US, the Social Short Awards in Portuguese, and the Flamingo Film Festival in the US.

The Free Speech Film Festival showcases films about free speech, human rights and rule of law.

The latest edition of the festival is slated for September 20, 2020.
